Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident

Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.

These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.

A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
