Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A representative for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was reached following an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour involving women.

The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
